 ittle Woods Montessori run our terms by 'themes'. Themes bring
about a wide cultural diversity,
awareness and affective concerns for each individual child.
Science, history and geography
are all interlinked and shown to
the child through talkabout
sessions and specially classified
cards and photographs. These
are then reinforced with a field
trip. For example, a theme like
'Fish' would consolidate at the
end of term with a trip to
'Underwater World' at Sentosa.
Festivals like Chinese New Year
and United Nations day are also
celebrated at Little Woods. On
such special occasions, parents
are invited to come and share
their traditions and cultures
with the children. Children then
learn to respect and are made
aware of differences in people.
